Chapter 3:
The Curse of Festur Part 2 -
The word kept, but at what cost?
You: Wait, wait, wait, those rhymes really are nice, are they real and that’s a major plot twist, and how didn’t Abraham knew all along about Paul? Seems weird to me
The Observer: It is what it is kid.
You; Wow, this does not make any sense!
The Observer: Sometimes the most irrelevant things turn out to be the most relevant.
You: Ok, I guess? Soooo, does anyone die?
The Observer: Wait for it patiently kid, everything will be answered.
Everyone was confused what the rhyme meant but Darrell had seemed to have figured out the equation, he said, “Oh! Nice trick you played there old man, but we have dealt with many of you before, let’s end it here once and for all”. Abraham didn’t seemed to have understood what Darrell meant, he said “What are you even talking about?” “Sorry to say, but your father ain’t any more in control of himself, he has been controlled by the same ghost”, assured Nathan to Abraham. The rhyme had caused something to happen to Paul, Darrell noticed Paul’s eyes were white as milk and his skin turned pale.
His voice was now much deeper, “Have you guys ever heard about prophecies?” “Yes”, spoke everyone unanimously. “What about the Prophecy of Festur?”
“Nope” said Darrell. “See here old man, we don’t care about who you are, Paul or Festur, I am sure that you’ve now come to this world, so do the hell you want but just give us our money.”, continued Darrell. “That’s the main problem child, the prophecy states that once every 70 years, I overcome my empire back. I, am the first one in this stupid Kenneth family or almost in Massachusetts to obtain this power. Everyone in the Kenneth family failed to obtain this power, but only my forefather were as close to it, his final wish was to get that power, which now I have obtained, successfully. I, once in 70 years, sacrifice my people and in return, 7 people and I get to see the future, in part of rhymes they need to decode which I write whenever I lose control or just a glimpse of it, and there is only a little percentage of flukes that could change the future. The rhymes composed tell the person when their success awaits, or how the loss they will suffer be like. Paul knew it was you, Abraham, under the disguise, but didn’t want to tell. Paul was a nice guy, he brought the 7 of you here just for the curse to not be released.” Said Festur. “Father…he got us into this mess…why?”, said Abraham, trembling in fear. All the crew members were tensed on what was about to happen.
The body of Paul took one dagger. “Come forward Darrell, accept your fate and let the suffering go!”, said Festur. “Suffering is eternal, I see only one way to end this”, said Darrell. “Darrell wait, don’t listen to him, you are killing the guy’s father in front of him, atleast think twice, idiot!”, said Vlad. “I have decided, it is for our own good”, said Darrell.
He charged the dagger in the chest of Abraham’s father, Nathan entered and try to stop him meanwhile suddenly Paul’s eyes returned to normal, he said “No you fool! Wait!”. It was too late, the dagger had already been impaled through the chest, Darrell had done it already.
“Father!!”, a shout was led by Abraham, he started crying.
Paul’s body fell to the ground
“You fool, what have you done?” said Paul, he was suffocating to breathe. “What you said to do, you old fellow!! I tried to end it once and for all such that it won’t come back again”, shouted Darrell. “He was fooling you around, you have released the curse, you have doomed us all, you released the soul of Festur, we are all gonna be get killed now!”, said Paul, choking and then he became unconscious. Everyone broke. They lost all hope and had done a thing they never expected to happen. The whole room lit in red light. Ben exclaimed, “What are you wai’in’ for now, c’mon, let’s run, I can hear the house crumblin’ for above, unless you wanna get crushed! We are wasting time right now, every second we waste is gonna take us far from stopping him, let’s get this man to the hospital immediately! Run!!” Abraham and Darrell carried Paul through the narrow staircase. The door was about to be shut, there was a force from upwards, but Nathan held it and stopped it, allowing passage for them to pass, they merely escaped the house and everything crumbled to dust. “What a weird day”, said Jimmy who was still trembling. They were carrying Paul altogether when a jogger passed by, he asked them, “Woah! Why in such a condition, did a bomb blast here or something! Wait, is that blood running from his chest, I am a doctor, I can help, tell me what happened.” “Well, we were in this house which crumbled into dust because a few robbers came in, stole antique stuff, stabbed my father in the chest and broke the pillars, we managed to escape”, said Abraham, who was exhausted. “Well, I am sorry to tell you, but there was no house here to begin with, and the nearest hospital is a mile ahead up the street, take the fifth left and a second right, you will find it, I would suggest we better hurry, If you take more than 15 minutes, it is really going to cause some serious stuff and they could even get a cardiac arrest, so be quick”, said the doctor. Everyone as shocked, if there was no house here, was Abraham’s whole life a lie? Tune in for the next chapter to know.
